Auroville Papers has been producing beautiful hand-made paper in Auroville since 1998. Over the years we have explored and experimented with many paper making techniques. Apart from the classic stationery items, we make decorative and useful household products, jewellery, posters and unique artworks from paper and cotton-mache.
Earth and bamboo are two materials which have been used together for a wide range of traditional construction techniques in Southeast Asia. They are locally abundant, affordable and with a very low carbon footprint. They are known to be materials of the people. They can be used for crude self-construction or can be engineered with high precision.
The modules in this workshop will empower you to grow your own food; urban gardening, circle garden with enormous social implications, a larger field module for those starting their own farms. We will explore soil, seeds, local foods, medicinal plants, recycling water, enzyme, hand soaps and the importance of celebration in permaculture.
SOLVA is a web-based tool with the aim to assist grid operators in assessing the network and societal value of DER. Designed for users to undertake a DT/Feeder/Substation level power flow analysis, evaluate the network benefits and social benefits for distributed solar and energy storage.
This 3-day workshop focuses on building with cost-efficient, environment-friendly, and sustainable building materials, especially appropriate for our climate with the world’s oldest and widely used building material -mud, locally available, and reclaimed materials followed by interactive sessions and site visits.
