Over three batches, 60 school teachers from Ariyalur District visited Auroville to explore climate, energy and sustainability through hands-on learning and real-world examples.
The programme included visits to Pebble Garden to explore landscape restoration, the Auroville Kindergarten to discover how passive cooling can create more comfortable learning environments, and the Smart Mini Grid, along with a hands-on renewable energy simulation game.
Through these experiences, teachers had the opportunity to observe, ask questions and connect ideas around climate and sustainability with their own learning environments.
The programme was organised as part of the Tamil Nadu Climate Change Mission’s Climate Education Initiative.
